On a long distance journey across the Tibetan plateau from Lhasa to Germu, a passenger steps off the bus for a break at a truck stop in Wudaoliang, Qinghai. Until the recent development of the Beijing to Lhasa train, the two-lane road was the only means of travel across the barren land. A sign nearby reads, â??Ã?úThe army and civilians be united to win, hand in hand and march to a well-off lifeâ??Ã?ù.
